An autologous model of the adaptive immune response in human lung organoids: Targeting infection with influenza-specific T-cells

From a total of 34 draft proposals, three research projects were selected for further funding. The impressive number of applications submitted illustrates the high value that human 3D models now have in research at Charité. The three selected projects will be funded with a total of 537,000 euros over a period of two years starting in January 2023. Among the three funded projects, the project “An autologous model of the adaptive immune response in human lung organoids: Targeting infection with influenza-specific T-cells” has been selected and aims to develop a human, immune-competent and autologous lung model to test the efficacy and safety of virus-specific T-cell products against influenza infections.
